This is, perhaps, the best ad of the entire cycle from former state Senate Minority Leader Richard Tisei (R). He is giving Rep. John Tierney (D) a very serious challenge, but we cannot imagine a better way to close out a campaign in the overloaded Boston TV market, even if it is a small cable buy:
And as if things couldn’t get nastier between Democrats and Republicans in Arizona.
In recent days, the race between former Surgeon General Richard Carmona (D) and Rep. Jeff Flake (R) has been waged on television. Carmona released a controversial ad featuring the dated voice-overs of Republican Sens. Jon Kyl and John McCain praising him during his Bush-era surgeon general confirmation hearings. Since then, Carmona has found himself fighting more often with these two Senators, who pushed back against the spot, than with Flake.
Adding fuel to the fire, the Democratic state party’s spokesman tweeted this out, comparing Kyl and McCain to Muppets.
We’ve seen a flurry of Halloween-themed ads, but this one from attorney Andy Barr (R) in his race against Rep. Ben Chandler (D) stands out.
This race has become one of the absolute nastiest when it comes to ad wars, but Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D) opted for a positive spot featuring President Bill Clinton to close out her race against former Gov. Tommy Thompson (R).
