EMILY’s List Endorses Michelle Nunn for Georgia Senate | #GASEN

EMILY’s List, an organization that backs female Democratic candidates who support abortion rights, announced on Monday that it endorsed nonprofit leader Michelle Nunn for Senate from Georgia.
Nunn is seeking retiring GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss’ seat. She is the daughter of former Sen. Sam Nunn, D-Ga.
“It’s important that we elect a Democratic woman like Michelle, but it’s just as important that we keep her right-wing, extremist opponents out of the Senate,” EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock wrote in an email to supporters. “Think about it this way. If you’re looking for the next Todd Akin, Georgia’s the place.”
Schriock went on to criticize the records of three GOP candidates for Georgia Senate: Reps. Paul Broun and Phil Gingrey and former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel.
The race is currently rated Republican Favored by Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.
