EMILY’s List has endorsed Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes’ bid against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

The group’s president, Stephanie Schriock, called Lundergan Grimes “an energetic rising star” in a Wednesday release announcing the endorsement.

The organization, which backs female Democratic candidates who back abortion rights, aims to help candidates raise big money and create a strong campaign organization early in the race. CQ Roll Call recently reported that the group raised almost $10 million for female candidates in the first six months of the 2013.

“Mitch McConnell is one of the least liked senators in the country for a reason — he’s hopelessly out-of-touch with the needs of his state,” Schriock said. “Alison is working tirelessly to make sure that Kentuckians’ voices are being heard.”

The Kentucky Senate race is rated a Republican Favored contest by Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.

Great News! Now on to winning and put Mitch McConnell out to pasture!

Emily’s List unendorsed two incumbent senators, Mary Landrieu and Blanche Lincoln, because they voted to ban the gruesome practice of partial birth abortion. Thats how extreme they are. This will play terribly for Grimes in Kentucky

KY’s THE #1 “worst” government in the American State Litter Scorecard.
