President Bill Clinton has weighed in on yet another Democratic House primary, this time backing Tarryl Clark in Minnesota’s 8th district.

Clark, who lost to Rep. Michele Bachmann (R) in 2010, moved to Duluth last year to challenge freshman Rep. Chip Cravaack (R). She faces a competitive Aug. 14 primary against former Rep. Rick Nolan and Duluth City Councilor Jeff Anderson.

Clinton has endorsed several Congressional candidates this year who supported his wife, then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), in the 2008 presidential campaign. Clark endorsed Clinton in November 2007 while serving as Assistant Majority Leader in the state Senate.

“From her work with the Children’s Defense Fund and Legal Services’ Senior Law Project, to her commitment to coalition building while leading the state’s Community Action Partnership, Tarryl’s focus for almost 25 years has been improving Minnesota,” the former president said in a statement. “I am confident she will bring the common sense solutions we need to Washington.”

This district is Democrats’ best chance to pick up a seat in Minnesota, and Roll Call rates the race a Tossup.
