President Barack Obama endorsed Newark Mayor Cory Booker’s special-election campaign for Senate, calling the New Jersey Democrat an “important partner” for his party’s key issues.

“Cory Booker has dedicated his life to the work of building hope and opportunity in communities where too little of either existed,” Obama said in a Wednesday statement from Booker’s campaign that ran in USA Today. “Whether as a college student working in East Palo Alto or as mayor of New Jersey’s largest city, Cory has time and again taken on tough challenges, fought for the middle class and those working to join it, and forged coalitions that create progress — and that’s the spirit he’ll carry with him to Washington.”

Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg, D-N.J., died in June, prompting a special election for his seat.

Earlier this month, Booker won the primary over two members of Congress and a state legislator. He will face the Republican nominee, Steve Lonegan, in the Oct. 16 special.

The New Jersey Senate race is rated a Safe Democratic contest by Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.

Looks like another tribal racists decision by the socialist in chief!

    • squiggs

Obama has endorsed plenty of white candidates, You would see that if the holes in your sheet were in the right place.

  • Rumionemore

    Like, wow.

  • HongryHawg

The pretend president calling this “off the chart” liberal an “important partner” would, in a normal world, be a barrage of red flags. But, as we’ve all noticed since the faker took office, our world is no longer normal. If NJ is stupid enough to vote this loser in, they deserve another hurricane.

    • squiggs

Just like when the whites dude won the guy who got the most votes is not the pretender. Get over having a black president limp d—.

      • HongryHawg

Silly. You’re confusing race with intelligence. It’s not his semi-blackness I’m having trouble getting over. It’s his stupidity. You can relate, I’m sure.

Newark NJ’s next door to NYC, America’s #1 “Dirtiest City” (TRAVEL+LEISURE).
NJ STILL has NO statewide Anti-Litter Campaign to encourage removals of illegal solid wastes on roads, streets, parks, waterways.

  • njboomer

NOW, if he only had the cohones to LEAD the party and endorse Barbara Buono for governor. How can he endorse Booker and not Buono?

  • Naurya

How kind of Satama to endorse someone who could have been a good public servant but he drank the Devil’s Kool-Aid. Poor NJ….
