Investment banker Matt Doheny announced Wednesday that he will make a third run at New York’s 21st District.

Doheny, a Republican, narrowly lost to Rep. Bill Owens, D-N.Y., by 2 points last cycle. But Republicans are newly optimistic they could pick up this seat in 2014 since Owens announced his retirement last month.

“I was honored that more than 120,000 voters chose me to represent them during the last election,” Doheny said in a news release.

“Many told me they appreciated my real-world experience in tackling tough problems and working together with competing interests to find common ground,” he added. “That approach and real-world experience is sorely needed in a Congress too full of career insiders.”

Doheny joins former Bush White House aide Elise Stefanik in the hunt for the Republican nomination. The primary is June 24.

One week ago, local Democratic officials endorsed documentary filmmaker Aaron Woolf to be their nominee.

New York’s 21st District is rated a Tossup by Rothenberg Political Report/Roll Call.

Too late Matty boy. Elise has more energy and charisma on her worst day than you ever had. The first two campaigns we never saw you out here asking for votes. I’ve already met her twice.

Since our minds cannot predict their own future, civilization’s advance consists of learning from our mistakes, taking into account the lessons of accidents, and making the most of the fleeting circumstances we are faced with.

I seriously hope people do NOT vote this INVESTMENT BANKER in. It was his ilk that helped cause and prolong the current economic situation. No more!
