Updated 4:00 p.m. | The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee announced raising $4.9 million last month and ending May with “nearly $10 million” on hand.
“We still have a very long road to travel, but we are off to a strong start,” DSCC Executive Director Guy Cecil said.
Senate Democrats outraised the National Republican Senatorial Committee by nearly $7 million through the first four months of the year. The NRSC, which outraised the DSCC by a nose for the first time in April, has not yet announced its fundraising haul from last month.
Reports are due to the Federal Election Commission by Thursday.
Update: The NRSC announced it raised $3.6 million in May, ending the month with $7.1 million on hand and $8 million in debt.
The DSCC did not release its updated debt total. It owed $13.75 million as of the end of April.
